Virtual veg of the month club

April 5, 2010

I hope you don’t think we’re too demanding: I know that last week we asked you to submit your green living tips and tricks (the ones we’ve got so far are great: thanks, and keep them coming, the giveaway deadline is not for a while yet).  This week we’re asking for submissions again.  We are going to try a new feature, which, if it works, we will run bi-weekly or monthly.  We’ll pick a seasonal fruit or veg and ask for submissions of photos of your favourite recipe featuring this product.  We’ll publish the photos and link them all back to your blog so the readers can find more information and the recipe.  (If you don’t have a blog we can link to flickr too, or if you just submit the photo and recipe we can post them on our flickr page, giving you full credit of course!).  Eventually we should build up a nice seasonal cooking library full of mouthwatering photographs and loads of inspiration!

Since asparagus season is either underway or on its way (depending where you live) we’re going to start with asparagus: please submit your photos to us via email (email at innbrooklyn dot com) along with the link to the associated post.  We’re going to put this up next monday so make your submissions by Sunday April 11th.

Please let us know what you think of this new feature in the comments section and make any suggestions you want for the next featured food!

I just made my favorite (and so simple) roasted asparagus last night and had kids that were fighting over the last piece! I’ll see what I can create for this great event! Good idea.

I have to look back and see what I’ve got on asparagus… like Kristen, I know I have a roasted pic, but no blog post to accompany. Looks like I have a new Kitchen Adventure to tackle this week!

Well, poop. We don’t have our asparagus in yet here in Belgium. Well, we DO have the white stuff, but not the green yet. We’re waiting anxiously…

I’m looking forward to seeing the photos. What a great idea!

Once you have your asparagus come back and post the link to anything you cook on the round up page: we’ll always be happy to have new asparagus inspirations!
